With sedation, we can often complete multiple procedures in a single appointment, saving you time and reducing the number of visits you need. Many patients have little to no memory of the procedure afterward.

Types of Sedation We Offer
Nitrous oxide (laughing gas): The mildest and most commonly used form of sedation. You breathe it through a mask over your nose and feel relaxed and comfortable within minutes. The effects wear off quickly, so you can drive yourself home afterward.
Oral conscious sedation: A prescription medication taken by mouth before your appointment. You remain conscious and can respond to instructions, but feel deeply relaxed and may have little memory of the procedure. You will need someone to drive you home.
Local anesthesia is always used alongside sedation to ensure you feel no pain during the procedure. We will discuss all options at your consultation and recommend the level of sedation that best suits your needs and the procedure being performed.

Is sedation dentistry safe? Yes. When administered by trained dental professionals following a thorough review of your medical history, sedation dentistry is very safe. We monitor your vital signs throughout any sedated appointment.
Will I be unconscious? No. With nitrous oxide and oral sedation, you remain conscious and able to communicate. General anesthesia (full unconsciousness) is rarely used in a dental office setting and is not something we currently offer.
How do I prepare for a sedation appointment? For oral sedation, you will need to fast for a certain number of hours before your appointment and arrange for someone to drive you home. We will give you complete pre-appointment instructions when you book.
